EMC Engineers - Project Profile - USAFA Falcon Stadium Sports Lighting
The U.S. Air Force Academy has recently joined the Mountain West Conference. Several of the games each season will now be televised as night games on ESPN requiring stadium lighting adequate for broadcasting standards. EMC provided a design study for the U.S. Air Force Academy for lighting Falcon Stadium for televised nighttime football, soccer, and special events activities.

Hibays ... Hibays ... Hibays
When Brooks Sheifer, Robert Ofsevit and I wrote ‘Essay By Invitation’ (a.k.a. The Case for T5HO Hibays), June 2001, LD+A, one of the main reasons was that we saw way too many hibays installed with HPS, standard (a.k.a. probe start) metal halide (MH) and eight 42W compact fluorescents. It is quite apparent that T5HOs and pulse start metal halide have made their mark. Since the text was submitted last March for June publication, much has been learned.

IAEEL - There's more than athletics to sports...
Lighting energy consumption in an indoor sports center was reduced by appr. 70% in a recent retrofit in the Swedish city of Gothenburg. The installation of occupancy sensors accounted for some 35% of the total savings, and the sensors paid for themselves in a little less than a year.
